If an internet job is worth doing, we'll do it right.  From first introductions through to service setup and beyond, we will be with you every step of the way, offering technical advice and hand-holding as much, (or as little), as is required.  If you simply want a dedicated server that you can rely on and you have the skills to manage in-house, we will build with your chosen O/S, deploy and leave you alone.  But if you know what you want to achieve but have no idea how to do it, we can offer consulting services to ensure you make the right decisions, from square one.

Hosting Solutions

From shared hosting to dedicated servers to replicated, dual-location Virtual Machine instances, we are able to provide the solution that best fits your requirements. We have two data centre locations, (25 miles apart), based in Kent which allows us to replicate data and website content between the two, giving you total peace of mind.

We are primarily a Microsoft house and specialise in .NET Framework, Umbraco and DotNetNuke hosting.  We also offer a WAMP solution for those of you that prefer Apache, (though we've never been too sure why anyone would!).

 

For clients that require multiple servers we will setup your own VLAN if requested so that they can communicate directly across the internal network, great if you wish to use a dedicated database server for instance.

We also offer managed MSSQL and MySQL instances with optional nightly backup solutions.  In fact we offer backups across all of our hosted solutions, with a frequency dictated by you and your specific requirements.

In short, everything can be tailored and we strive to create the perfect hosting solution, whatever the requirements.

Professional, Enterprise Email Services.  Through our dual-location data centres we offer a fully resilient email service.  Access your email, calendars, contacts, tasks, chats and notes in the office, on the road, or at home with the WebStores SmarterMail webmail interface. The mail server’s interface combines aesthetics with the full functionality of a desktop client, giving users the ability to communicate and collaborate around the clock from anywhere there is an Internet connection.

Enjoy increased mobility with full collaboration features and synchronize your email, contacts, calendars, tasks, and notes with email clients like Microsoft Outlook and Mozilla Thunderbird or with the latest smartphones via techologies such as Exchange Web Services, Exchange ActiveSync, and SyncML.

 

WebStores' SmarterMail service boasts the strongest internal antispam and antivirus features, achieving 97% spam protection upon setup and installation. Plus, our platform includes a variety of intrusion detection methods to prevent the mail server from being compromised.

In today’s fast-paced world, instant communication is critical. Discuss issues and strategies with co-workers in real time, even if they are working halfway around the world. With WebStores' SmarterMail instant messaging features, use your own XMPP-compatible instant messaging desktop client like Adium, Digsby or Live Messenger or mobile clients like IM+ and IMO to have instant access to anyone within your organization.

Security & Infrastructure

No point doing anything online unless it's done securely and backed by an infrastructure that can cope.  Our data-centres boast some very impressive stats when it comes to security and infrastructure, the key headlines are listed below:

  • Robust Power Distribution Path with N+1 Maintainable UPS (Uninterruptable power supply)
  • Active cooling with Maintainable N+1 setup, including dedicated pipework per rack.
  • Failover generator with 48 hours connected fuel supply and additional 14 days held in separate bunker.
  • Advanced VESDA/Aspirating Fire Detection System with Gaseous Fire Suppression
  • The main datacentre is located within a 25 acre ring-fenced Research Centre at the heart of the Kent Science Park. Physical security features include razor-wire fencing to all boundaries and a bullet-proof/blast-proof security gatehouse. 
  • Surveillance measures include 24x7 manned security and extensive CCTV monitoring.
  • As for the datacentre itself, this has electronic locks linked to a central COTAG card access system. Issue of cards is controlled, and all access to the datacentre is recorded. 
  • All servers sit behind dedicated, managed hardware firewalls.
  • Multi-server clients can be setup on their own VLAN if requested, for additional internal network traffic security.
  • Individual IP/Port-based restrictions can be setup for all client services.
  • 24/7 Monitoring and Alerting on all services with optional client-alerting available on request.


We also provide bespoke consultancy services to our clients, including full security audits, (for servers hosted with us or systems held in-house).

Domain Registration & DNS Services

As a proud Nominet tag holder & Channel Partner, Joker reseller, (an ICANN accredited registrar), and Centralnic & EuropeRegistry members we are able to offer the full range of domain extensions to meet all your business needs and help you to protect your online brand.  Also, as a ZoneEdit Premium member, we are able to facilitate all zone file and DNS management.  This is a fully managed service and we only offer it to our existing clients currently, although we do plan to open a direct B2C portal for domains and professional DNS services, later this year.

Please use the contact details below to contact us for any domain name related queries you may have, including complaints and instances of domain name abuse. If our call queue gets too long it will auto-failover to one of our team's voicemails; please don't hang-up, leave a message, your call is very important to us and during business hours you should expect to receive a response within a few hours and no more than 3 days.  

Whilst our existing customers have full access to our support portal and will receive prompt service via that route, if you are an end-user or interested party that wishes to either report misuse or abuse of a domain in our control, please send details to domains at webstores dot uk dot com. 

As standard we register each domain for 2 years minimum, although longer terms can be arranged on request. We do not charge for cancellations, (as long as notice is received 10 days or more before its renewal), or transfers.  However, if domain issuing bodies impose charges on us, (say for ownership changes for example), we will pass these charges on to you directly, with zero uplift. 

We will email the contact of the account, between 60 and 15 days before your domain name is due to expire to ensure you have time to decide if you would like to keep the domain name. Should you wish to, you need do nothing and your account will be charged accordingly.  If you do not wish to renew please respond directly to the renewal notice or contact us via the support portal, at least 10 days before renewal and we will mark the domain as 'Not Required'.  The domain name will then not be renewed and will be suspended 30 days after the expiry date and cancelled after a further 60 day grace period.
